I realize these are not all that exciting, as we have been somewhat homebound since Bella was born.  Nevertheless I wanted to have these on record and show how Bella is growing.

That last pic has got some exposure issues, but I had to grab the camera and shoot fast while she was still puckering.  I love that face.

She is 5 weeks old now.  Everyone is getting along well here.  (Despite the fighting amongst older siblings that has gone on since Asher’s birth.)  Bella is still sleeping pretty well.  Occasionally we get a five hour stretch at night, and can usually at least count on 3 or 4 solid hours between feedings.  If we were really smart we’d go to sleep the minute we put her down at night.  But call me crazy, I still crave some time to myself after the big kids are in bed.  And a few seconds with my hubby.

Better go run and start taking more pics.  And maybe some video.  5 weeks and still no video footage of baby #3… oops.

Ok, so I forgot a few pics of that first weekend in the hospital.  Here goes:

Ok, so here’s the rest of Bella’s delivery weekend in pics.  I’m short on words and time this morning.

It’s hard to believe this was over a month ago.  Time has really flown by and Bella has turned out to be fairly mellow baby.  People keep asking me if it’s been hard to go from 2 kids to 3 kids.  Well, I have to say that for us, going from 1 to 2 was the hardest.  Everyone is so different though, and a lot of it has to do with the temperment of each kid.  When we went from 1 to 2, Amai hated the transition.  She was super jealous of the attention her new little brother got and would quite literally try to get rid of him any chance she got.  On top of that, Asher had acid reflux really bad and didn’t sleep more than 45 minutes at one time until we got him on meds at 11 weeks.  This time around has been refreshingly different.  Amai has matured into quite the little mommy to her new sibling, and Asher has been super sweet as well.  Apart from the sleep deprivation that comes with all newborns, it’s been a fairly easy transition and we are immensely thankful.

Thank you to everyone who has been helping us with food and with the older kids- you’ve saved me my sanity (for the most part- most of it was already gone.)  A huge thank you to Aunt Patti for coming and putting in a solid week of HARD work with us the first week after we got home from the hospital.  I will post some more pictures of the first five weeks very soon.

ps- there are probably loads of typos in this post.  Despite  that being one of my biggest annoyances, I will live them because I’m too tired to re-read.  Happy reading through the errors.
