I hosted a “Sip’n'See” for my good friend Tiffany today.  It was for her second little girl- Emma Kate, born on April 18th.  And it was great.  I’m extra proud of the diaper cake I made and wanted to show it off.  I thought it was really cute!

I took the kids to the Dallas zoo. It went really well. I made a deal with Amai that if she stayed in the stroller while we walked around to look at animals, then I’d let her drive home. Just kidding.

I planned well this time- taking a full meal for both kids in a cooler. And they did stay in the stroller- which is always the most challenging part of any outing with two kids. These two like to run, and run in different directions at that. So keeping them in a stroller is a little bit like a small vacation for me. I pushed them around for almost two hours and just kept slowly handing them different parts of their lunch. It was awesome. Though the Dallas zoo doesn’t match the Ft. Worth zoo, it is still just so much fun to be able to go.

I noticed that there was a sign up on the cage that the big tiger is usually in. It said, “In memory of Boris” and had his picture. I was sad to see that he had died and even more sad for Amai- since that was her favorite animal to see. She kept asking where the tiger was and instead of having a big long talk about animals dying and getting into questions about animals going to heaven or not- I told her I didn’t know. And just then a group of teenagers walked by and one of them said rather loudly- “Hey look, that big tiger died” to which another replied, “yeah- they let all the animals here die.” Lovely. Amai’s eyes were the size of saucers and I had to then go ahead and have that conversation I was avoiding. Guess the Lord doesn’t like me avoiding the hot topics of life with her. :)

Here are just a couple of pictures. Sorry for the poor lighting- I haven’t gotten my good camera yet.
