All I can say is that home renovations take ten times longer with kids. Chris and I have been spending about 90% of our very little free time to begin and work on the long list of things we want to remodel on our house. What I know for sure right now is that drywall is really heavy, it takes a long time to measure and hang correctly, and our full time jobs are getting in the way of our vision for this house! I also know that I love tearing things down more than how tedious it is to put them back together correctly.

We are starting in the formal dining room (which we will use as our study), and from there we will go room by room until we finish up with the bedrooms. It may take a long time, but it sure is awesome to be able to have the freedom to do this now- after five years of white walls and not being able to change anything about the environment we’ve been living in. I really do think I will paint every room a different color.
Here’s a couple of pictures taken recently. The kids loved all the apple boxes a friend gave us for moving out of the apartment. And the others are of them finally getting to play in their back yard! Note: I’ve added pics to our flickr account and will probably stop using the gallery in this site due to our lack of time. The new pics on flickr are of our house, moving, and the kids in the recent snow. Enjoy!

Why do kids love cardboard boxes so much?

Chris is especially proud of the shirt…

She loves being outside!

It’s actually snowed twice now- and within one week was back to almost 85 degrees!

Asher’s first snow…
Hope you are all doing well!
