To redeem the rubbery pot roast I made last month, we had a great meal the other night. Pesto Cheesy Chicken, wilted garlic spinach salad, spaghetti with garlic, cherry tomatoes, and capers, and my personal favorite- broiled asparagus in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was divine and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Bon appetit!

In lieu of trick or treating, we took our kids to the fall festival at church to celebrate this pagan holiday. Chris and I both have been amazed at how many people are shocked that we didn’t take them out trick or treating into the wee hours of the night. The fact of the matter is that our kids go to bed by 7pm and the combination of loads of candy with a late bedtime is something we can hold off for one more year at most. It will be fun when we can go, even more fun when we have a real neighborhood to trick or treat in!
The festival was fun- both the kids were fighting a cold, but they had fun. Amai was a princess and her little brother was a frog. Get it? She kissed her first frog! Amai got her face painted and tasted cotton candy for the very first time. Amazingly she didn’t like it. Ashe did though- and they both were so cute walking around together. There’s something so endearing about a child who has just started walking strutting around in a frog costume. And Amai just looked darling.
Enjoy the pictures!

I can’t believe that it’s already November. We got to go down to Austin for Garrett’s birthday party at the end of October and it was great to be there celebrating him. The road trip wasn’t horrible, but I definitely don’t want to do another one for quite a while. Amai was an absolute angel while we were there, which was so incredibly refreshing. She volunteered to touch all the animals that the zoo man brought and yes, she even let a huge bug crawl on her hand without squeeling. She played really well with the other kids there too.
To top it all off, we got to meet our new niece in person and I got to hold that little sack of sugar. Chris told me, “Calm down, baby factory!” I must have had that look in my eye again. It’s amazing how quickly the baby bug got ahold of me after Ashe was born and it was wonderful to hold sweet Sadie. She’s just a doll.
We took a bunch of pics while we were there and they are in the gallery. Just a note… from now on we will be putting all of the pictures that show up in our gallery on our Flickr account in case any family or friends want to order anything. Just click on the link on the left and enjoy!
