I’m back from MOPS Convention, and I’m going to have to write another post to capture all my thoughts on it. It was incredible though. Just an awesome time where I got to get away and have some alone time, some girlfriend time, some God time. I had a lot of fun, and thought I’d go ahead and post some pictures of it.

Moms really do rock! Back row, left to right: Amy, Janet, Me, Kimberly. Front row: Farrel, Tina, Karen.

Lynn Spears actually showed up! You should have seen how many flashes were going off while she spoke.
My sister-in-law also got to come, but had to leave early due to all three of her kids getting hit with the awful stomach virus that’s going around. Karen had to leave one night early as well, and it turns out that her son Mason had to go to the hospital with a very bad case of pneumonia. Our friend Steph actually had her son in the same hospital the night Mason was admitted, due to him having an episode where he stopped breathing while he was asleep. All that to say- there are lots of moms needing prayer.
I apologize for this post not being more meaty- I installed a completely new closet shelving system in Amai’s closet today and I’m wiped out. I will definitely post more on Convention later. Look for “Moms Rock, part 2.”
And in case you want to see how tired I am, we took our weekly pregnancy pic tonight. I’ve missed several weeks because we’ve been so busy and there really hasn’t been any change yet. Check it out though- once Chris puts it in the slideshow you can see what I look like when I get really tired.
ps- sorry the pics are so dark. My camera is not the best. One day…
I’m headed off to the MOPS Convention this weekend. Looking forward to a much needed break and some time with my sister-in-law and friends. I’ll post pictures and the scoop on how it was when I return after Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!
Yesterday, after going to a sip’n'see for an old friend from college, we headed out with some dear friends to the Plano Balloon Festival. We met up with Jami and Matt there, who had saved awesome seats for us. Matt and Chris play soccer every week together, and Jami and I have become friends over the years as well.
The thing is, the balloon festival is not as exciting as the state fair. There’s not as much to do there. But it holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. The first of which is that Chris took me for the first time when we were dating. Back then, it was a romantic evening that we shared and thanks to it being an annual event, we can continue to revisit the memories we made there and build on them each year.
Two years ago, I was a week away from giving birth to Asher. I specifically remember having strong contractions while walking around and having to stop during the hardest ones. It was so windy that year that much of what was planned didn’t happen according to schedule.
And last year we had the pleasure of going with Dan and Stephanie for the first time. They had just recently moved down to Texas and I became fast friends with Steph when we realized that our oldest kids were in the same Mother’s Day Out class at church and that she would also be in MOPS. It was fun to go with them again this year, celebrating a year of friendship, and making new memories with Jami and Matt as well.
Here are a few of the pictures- I’ve put the whole album up on our Flickr account. Enjoy!
Amai and Josiah, so sweet.
Chris and his little man.

Amai said, “Look, Jesus is coming!”
Next year, there’ll be five of us!
Listening carefully to instructions.
She had so much fun, jumping so, so high.
So pretty.
This really captures the emotions of the night.

Gettin’ their dance moves on. We had a ball!
