Compared to last Monday, this one has been stellar. Amai started swimming lessons this morning and we arrived early, and at the right place! She did great, Asher did pretty well (despite almost scaling the upstairs balcony railing and trying to jump over), and I behaved myself as well. I’m super tired this morning with [...]

Today was the last day of Amai’s camp at the rec center. She was so tired by the end of today- they must have run them around the gym a few dozen times or something. She did great this week. And we have found something to sign her up for in the fall. Next week, [...]

See that sweaty woman? With dirty hair, last night’s make-up, and a toddler on her hip who is furiously pulling on said dirty hair? That’s me. Running late to drop off sweet Amai at gymnastics camp. The camp that she loves- the camp that almost cost me my sanity on Monday. And I gladly deal [...]

Well, well, well. It’s Monday, and last night I thought I would get ahead of the game and finish all the laundry, put all the dishes away, have the house tidy, and just generally have things in order before the week started. I thought that would help me not have to stress out this morning [...]

So here are some pictures from the pool yesterday. Kiddie pools back in my day consisted of a big round 1 or 2 ft. pool of water next to the main pool at all the public parks. My kids love this pool though and I love it because it keeps them entertained for hours at [...]

Today was the last day of Vacation Bible School for Amai. She had fun once she was there each day, but getting her into the classroom is hard if everyone else is already there. If she’s one of the first to arrive, then she has no problem- but that doesn’t happen all that often. This [...]

Aunt Patti came in town this weekend and we had a blast with her. On Friday we took the kids to the community pool, which has an awesome splash park, complete with kid-sized water slides. That was so much fun to do with her. I didn’t get a picture of it because Asher is still [...]

We had a busy weekend. Saturday morning I took Amai to a kids’ cooking class where she got to make her own pizza from scratch. That was fun- she really liked it and did really well following instructions and answering questions that the instructors asked. It was through a school called “Young Chef’s Academy” offered [...]

Today was Amai’s first ice-skating lesson. It was hilarious. She had a ball and only cried once when she really wiped out hard. Of course it may take several weeks to just start moving forward, but it was so funny to watch. At one point they sat the kids on plastic frisbees and pushed them [...]

It’s so cliche’, but so true. I feel like this picture was practically taken yesterday. I’ve included a poem that brings a tear to my eye almost every time I read it. “A Touch of Love” You were six months old and full of fun, With a blink of my eye, you suddenly were one. [...]
